For more than 22 years, Brian and Jane Forster have developed a loving, caring atmosphere in the Huronia Guest Home for all of their residents and visitors. The couple, along with their son Kevin, run their facility like a home and treat residents like members of the family.
The retirement
lodge, a welcoming old brick home, is conveniently located half a block away
from downtown shopping, along Stayner's main street. Our folks just love this
feature, says Brian. It's great for walking downtown, watching the hustle
and bustle and even catching a few town parades.
The Huronia Guest Home is beautifully decorated with art, soft colours and pastel trims. Throughout the lodge you will find cozy little sitting rooms which are just perfect for quiet conversations with friends. There's also an inviting TV room where many of the residents gather in the evenings to watch their favourite programs and, like any good home in the South Georgian Bay region, the lodge has an appealing deck - just perfect for catching a few rays and for when Kevin gets out the barbecue.
From the kitchen there's always the delectable odour of home cooking - homemade soups, baked apples, tapioca puddings - all of the time-honoured favourites. We try very hard to meet the likes and dislikes of all our residents, says Jane. And we cater to specific dietary needs.
The Huronia Guest Home is quite unique in having the personal supervision of the owners. We do whatever needs to be done for the comfort of our residents, says Brian. If that means running them up to the doctors or to a church service, we do it. If they need help with personal care, it's provided. A hairdresser and a podiatrist visit the home on a regular basis and laundry and housekeeping services are also provided.
If you are thinking of care-free retirement living for yourself or for a loved one, please call Brian, Jane or Kevin to make an appointment for a no-obligation tour. You will be pleasantly surprised at their competitive rates and full range of accommodations.
